I provide individual therapy, couples therapy, and case consultation to other clinicians. For individual therapy, I typically see ages 13 and older but will consider younger patients on a case-by-case basis.

In our work together, you will feel supported while also being challenged in a non-judgmental manner. I often draw on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches such as DBT and ACT, and I tailor my work to meet the unique needs of each individual. The approach and length of treatment will depend on the client and the nature of his or her concerns.

When you call or email me, I will reach out to schedule a brief phone conversation. We will then determine if we will schedule an initial session, or if your needs might be better met by another provider, in which case I can refer you to a colleague. At the first session, I will gather some background information and get more details about your current concerns.

Together we will determine the focus of the therapy and the approach that may be most useful. We may agree on a time-limited, solution-focused approach, or we may decide to engage in a more open-ended therapy, allowing for a deeper exploration. If you are interested in a skills-based approach, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, the work will be more directive, and I will give you exercises to practice between sessions.

Regardless of the time frame or type of therapy, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of our work together. I am interested in your experience, and I encourage you to communicate openly and to provide feedback about anything that comes up for you during or between sessions.
